Seville's Jewish quarter does not survive above ground: it survives underneath. These articles follow what the soil still holds (the necropolis beneath the Murillo Gardens, found during works on Calle Cano y Cueto and largely unexcavated), the stretches of wall still visible on Calle Fabiola and the churches that were once synagogues. And what the city does with that memory today: plaques, digs and silences.
